On May 10, the first Belarusian-Japanese economic forum started in Tokyo. The aim of the forum is to intensify investment and regional cooperation with Japan.

The delegation consisted of the heads of the Ministry of Health, NAIP, Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, Mogilev FEZ, Industrial Park Development Park, Belarusian enterprises. From the Japanese side, the forum was attended by representatives of more than 100 companies, including Kawasaki, Mitsubishi Corporation, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Chukan Butsu, Shionogi Pharma, Ono Pharma, Assentia Holdings, MNPS, Argentum Bullet Consulting, Global Media Corporation, etc.222.jpgWithin the framework of the forum, there were presentations of the investment climate of Belarus, Great Stone Industrial Park, the Belarusian pharmaceutical industry, Mogilev Free Economic Zone, Japan-Belarus Industrial Zone, and a number of other investment projects, including mechanical engineering, electric vehicles and high-tech medical equipment. Speeches were made by Minister of Health of Belarus Valery Malashko, president of JETRO J. Possibilities and examples of successful business cooperation between Belarus and Japan were presented by head of the European branch of Socionext Inc. Tanaka Toshihiko, president of Toshin Kogyo Company Siro Suzuki, head of Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Belarus Koki Sato.

In addition, business meetings were held in the B2B format with representatives of Japanese companies and business associations, as well as an extended meeting of the organizers and forum participants with members of the Japan-Belarus interparliamentary friendship group headed by Chairman of the Committee for the Regional Reconstruction of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, H.Vatanabe.5678.jpgOn May 11, the Belarusian-Japanese Economic Forum continued at the business site in Osaka. Participants of the event visited the Kansai Electric Company, got acquainted with the developing infrastructure objects for the World EXPO - 2025 exhibition. Also the regional meeting "Mogilev Region - Osaka Prefecture", business matchmaking session and meetings in B2B format were held. In addition, the presentation of the project "smart city" of the Japanese company Socionext, the speech of President of the company Chukan Butsu and others took place.

Representatives of the Belarusian pharmaceutical industry are planning to sign memorandums of cooperation with Japanese companies. The prospects of creating joint or foreign enterprises with Japanese investment capital for the production of medicines will be explored.

The organizers of the forum are the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, the Embassy of Belarus in Japan, Mogilev Regional Executive Committee with the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
