Chinese companies are interested in opening the logistics center in Brest, as reported Mikhail Batsenko, Chairman of the Economy Department of the Region Executive Committee.

Two Chinese firms want to open the representation in Belarusian-Polish border-zone. “The first company is ZIH. It is engaged in transportation of their containers via the Silk Road passing from China to Europe. At the moment they are loaded up in Malashevichi in Poland. The company is interested to work with our subjects of logistics. The second company Wuhan-Hanyou is located in Anhui Province. Its delegation will visit Brest region on 5th December. During the visit this question also will be discussed,” Mikhail Batsenko noted.

According to him, now negotiations are being conducted. Various forms of cooperation are offered to the Chinese partners. Thus, the logistic center can be placed on the territory of the existing objects, for example, JLLC Brestvneshtrans or CJSC Belterminal.

Brest region is interested in strengthening the relations with regions of the Celestial Empire. It is planned that in the long term the agreement on cooperation with the Province of Anhui will be signed. During the December visit of the delegation to Brest, the spheres of mutually advantageous prospects for joint operation will be presented, guests will visit core enterprises.

During January-September the external turnover between China and Brest region was 73.8 million US dollars. The businesses of the region sent goods to PRC amounting to 4.4 million US dollars. It is expected that at the end of the current year export to the Celestial Empire will be 15% more than in 2015.

“Export has become more technological. For example, Karbon-Mekhanika enterprise supplies vacuum furnaces to China. Also our food products, including JSC Brestskoye pivo, the liquor producer plant Belalko are shipped. We offer textiles, furniture. There are a lot of moments for cooperation, but it is very difficult to enter this market. To build a business here, it is necessary to use every effort,” summarized the Chairman of the Economy Department.
