Representatives of the Italian company Drillmec S.p.A and the Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton concluded an agreement to implement a $1.8 million investment project. The relevant documents were signed during the Days of Gomel Oblast at Expo 2015 in Milano (14-15 July), BelTA learned from the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

Drillmec S.p.A, a manufacturer of drilling equipment for oil and gas industries, has been on the market of since 1929. Its equipment is operated in more than 70 countries. In 2010, it became a shareholder of Gomel-based OAO Seismotekhnika. Now the Gomel company produces stationary drilling rigs with the lifting capacity of 345 tonnes under the brand of the Italian company. A new investment project is aimed at expanding the existing production.

In addition, cooperation agreements were signed between So.& Co. consortium, Solidarieta & Mercato agency (Tuscan region of the Italian Republic) and the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, and also between the Gomel Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the FEZ Gomel-Raton administration and the Italian consulting company 4 Consulting. During the talks that preceded the signing ceremony the parties discussed the ways to attract Italian investments in Belarus, the possibilities to exchange of business delegations.
During the business matchmaking session the Gomel Oblast delegation held a series of talks with Italian businessmen working in various fields, including in the processing industry.
On 15 July Gomel Oblast will presents its agriculture and food processing practices at the workshop New technologies in agro-food production and milk processing.”

By arranging the Days of Gomel Oblast at Milano Expo 2015 (14-15 July) the Belarusian region seeks to present the trade and economic potential, investment and tourist opportunities, establish mutually beneficial business contacts with Italian firms and companies from countries.
The Gomel delegation includes more than 40 people. Most of them represent agro-industrial enterprises of the Belarusian region.

The Universal Exposition is the biggest international platform to demonstrate technical and technological solutions. It was held in 1851 for the first time. The theme chosen for the 2015 Milano Universal Exposition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. This embraces technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity and how they relate to food and diet.
Taking part in the Milano Expo are over 40 countries, ten international organizations and 30 corporations. Fifty-six countries have arranged their National Pavilions, including Belarus.
