September 17th, Budapest hosted the Hungarian-Belarusian business forum within the framework of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Hungarian commission for economic cooperation.

Belarus and Hungary have identified the most advanced areas of interaction with real opportunities of credit and investment cooperation, such as pharmaceutics, construction, scientific and technical cooperation, agriculture, food processing, — said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary, Alexander Haynovsky .
Almost 100 companies, dealing with construction, pharmaceutics, agriculture and other sectors of economy, became participants of the business meeting.
The composition of the forum shows the significant interest of the business circles in fruitful co-operative work and further strengthening of the Belarusian-Hungarian economic relations. Unfortunately, we can not speak about serious investments, but feel hopeful for the future , — noticed director of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus Natalia Nikandrava.

The participants discussed topical issues of trade and economic cooperation, the possibility of expanding partnerships and joint projects in the most promising areas.
The Hungarian side expressed their strong interest in expanding cooperation in the field of railway transport, including rail transportation, the modernization of the railway infrastructure. Belarus, inter alia, focused attention on the development of cooperative ties and supplies of metal goods, engines, household appliances and agricultural machinery to Hungary.
Belarusian tractors are valued and well-known for Hungarian farmers. It occupies more than 50% of the local tractor forces. In recent years more than a thousand of tractors "Belarus" has been sold. Our equipment is easy to use, reliable, has the necessary qualities, affordable, - said Alexander Haynovskiy.

The two sides also agreed on exploring further possibilities for cooperation in the field of health industry, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology.
Pharmaceutical companies EGIS and Gedeon Richter widely participate on the Belarusian market. Last year Belarus imported medical products worth about $ 40 million from Hungary.
Hungary is consistently among the top thirty main trading partners of Belarus. The total turnover of goods and services during the past year between Belarus and Hungary amounted to about $ 250 million.
