This year the event has been the greatest one ever. Delegations from 32 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Japan were among the participants. The EU was widelyrepresented. Heads of enterprises, banks, chambers of commerce, diplomatic missions of Germany, France and the UK are interested in development of the relations with Mogilev region.

“Such forums are an opportunity to get acquainted with the potential of the region. And I have already decided on what sphere to work here. Especially we are interested in the Belarusian hi-tech specialists. As for small and medium business – we are ready to cooperate with the excess to foreign capital and market,” permanent UNDP resident in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha reported.
Minister of Economic Affairs Vladimir Zinkovsky noted that the activity of the government, aimed at the creation of prosperous conditions for investment in the country, had already produced positive results. The most important one is the achievement of macrostabilisation. Stable and predictable situation in the economy is a foundation for sustainable development, formation of favorable conditions for the restoration of the economic growth. Economically, Belarus is attractive as a member of major integrative projects. The creation of the Eurasian Economic Union means the possibility to gain 180 million consumers. In the West, Belarus is close to the huge EU market with 450 million people.

“Polish investors are primarily interested in a stable financial and tax policy on the territory of Belarus. For us, Belarus is the gateway to Russia and, I think, cooperation can bring great results,” said Marshal of Kujawy-Pomeranian voivodship (Poland), Peter Tsalbetski.
The promising area for realization of cooperative ideas is tourism. Czeslawa Orlowska, director of a tourism company, came to Ukraine from Warsaw to establish new business contacts. She believes that the Poles have a considerable interest in Belarus and tourists want to come here. Last year, through her travel agency more than a thousand people visited Belarus. Czeslawa Orlowska says that number can be much higher.
“The most interesting thing is an industrial progress. We explore tourist sites, but we want to get acquainted with agro-towns, private farms. Our tourists are interested in it as well,” told the director of the travel agency.

The deputy head of the representative office of August-Bel company, as well as the representative of the working group on image of the Foreign Investments Advisory Council under the Council of Ministers, Igor Kobzev invited in Mogilev the head of the Hungarian company Woodstock, the European leader in maize seed export. The intention on cooperation was signed at noon. Soon, the new production will appear in the region.
“We have decided to export seeds manufactured in our country. Completion can be moved here with the use of raw materials from Belarus, as a colleague have already said, we can use disinfectants, produced here packing materials,” claimed General Director of the Hungarian company Woodstock Gabor Marosi.
“Partners who are on the serious network market of the fast food segment should provide itself with poultry — they are planning to build a poultry farm. There are many projects in the field of IT, one popular American corporation shows interest,” said Igor Kobzev.
Concern Kronospan, resident of the free economic zone Mogilev, has already invested in the region's economy more than 300 million US dollars of investment, signed an agreement with the regional administration about the start of a new project to produce steel structures for construction industry. Another agreement is building of a waste recycling factory in Bobruisk.
Paramount importance was the Belarusian-Chinese business meeting, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization took part in it. As businesspeople noted, that form of communication would further promote investment and export development of Mogilev region. Production of building materials, food industry, agriculture and tourism are among the promising areas of the region.
“We have several plans on the signing of agreements with China. Primarily in trade, we plan to supply of our food to China. Several companies operate very efficiently to establish cooperative ventures to produce cars,” Chairman of the Mogilev Executive Committee Vladimir Domanevsky said.
Mogilev has a favorable geographical position. As for the investment climate, the presidential decree provides investors with additional benefits in seven districts in southeastern Mogilev region. And this, in practice, involves investors. Minister of Economy of Belarus Vladimir Zinovsky said: “Legislation will be improved, we are in motion. The structure of production should be changed. The structure of production should focus on innovation. And innovation does not exist without investment”.
This year Mogilev enterprises have seriously expanded the export geography. 17 new markets, modern production and places of work will appear in the region. According to the forum experts, the Windmill of Success has fully justified its name.
