Agritourism have gained worldwide popularity becoming the last word in fashion, followed by millions of people

Agritourism have gained worldwide popularity becoming the last word in fashion, followed by millions of people. Today rural tourism is also a necessity, because the dynamic and busy pace of life arises  a desire to rest and relax amidst pure nature.

Belarus, with its unique nature and authentic culture, is a special country for lovers of agro- and eco-tourism. National Geographic Traveler Magazine held a contest for the best tourist destinations among the most popular types of rest – National Geographic Traveler Awards 2015. Belarus took second place in the “Agritourism” category. Twenty two per cent of the votes were cast in favor of the country. Belarus was ahead of Italy, which got twenty six per cent of  the votes.

“Developing agritourism in our country is considered one of the most priority and perspective directions of business development. Belarus and its rich history have indeed worthy tourist potential and competent organization of agritourism can be a source of stable income, ” noted director of the National Agency of  Investment and Privatization Natalia Nikandrova.

Historical places with preserved monuments of past epochs or the picturesque corners of the country are usually selected for the construction of mansions and hotels. In such an attractive and picturesque site agritourism object Park Dubrova is located. The complex lies on the shore of the reservoir Dubrovsky, on the border of Minsk and Smolevichi regions, 26 km to the north-east of the capital. The ski resorts Silichi and Logoisk are in close proximity to it, as well as the Olympic Training Center for winter sports Raubichi, the historical and cultural complex Stalin Line, the museum complex of folk crafts and technologies Dududki, health and leisure facilities for children and adults.

NAIP offers foreign businesses to take part in the realization of this investment project, initiated by Unitary Enterprise Ozeritskiy-Agro (founder and owner of the enterprise OJSC Belagroprombank).

“In addition to a great location, another advantage of the project is convenient transportation. The national airport Minsk-2 is only 31 km far from Dubrova Park, there are also republic-wide roads in close proximity of the object: the M3 highway – 15 km far from the complex, the M1 / E30 highway – 20 km, and there are other roads with improved pavement –  asphalt road around the object ”, said representative of OJSC Belagroprombank  Vladimir Nekrash.

Six million dollars have been already invested in the project realization. All necessary communication lines for the construction of tourist facilities have been also prepared, built and connected.

“The main goal of the project is to provide favorable environmental, social and commercial effects. Due to the fact that the segment of tourism services that is available  for the middle class, the so-called "budget travel" is not sufficiently developed, the construction of the facility Dubrova Park is aimed at meeting the needs of this particular segment of the population in a variety of tourist services ”, said Vladimir Nekrash.

Getsman’s family offers investors to invest in the construction of a tourist health center for large families in Yurzhishki village of Rakovski district, Minsk region.

“We have a lot of ideas and a great base to build a multifunctional complex for rest and health improvement of large families, including a children’s zoo, an amphitheater, a museum, mini-cafe, sauna, children's playground, soccer and volleyball field, pottery and sewing workshops, parking lot. When creating necessary conditions, we consider the possibility of organizing hippotherapy sessions for children with disabilities. This project will not be solely social. To move to self-sufficiency and income, we expect investments of foreign investors in the existing base – a building area of 715 square meters, located in our private property and 0.33 hectares of land that we have rented for 49 years. We believe that this complex can become not only a source of income, but also a new form of support for families with many children, which does not have analogues in Belarus”, summarized initiator of the project Marina Getsman.
