Russian investors regularly undergo geopolitical stress tests and are in search of ideas for profitable investments. Analysts also regularly make forecasts on which securities may be stronger than the market, and the regulator represented by the Central Bank introduces new indices, enriching the national system of price indicators. In general, it can be stated that the investment market continues to live and even provides opportunities to earn money. Some Russian sectoral indices (like construction and IT) have recently shown growth - thanks to positive results in 2022. The question of what these results will be in 2023 is still open. The problem of overstocking of the new buildings market and stagnation of sales has become so acute that it has received the personal attention of President Vladimir Putin. Nevertheless, in the long term (from ten years) investments in real estate (especially in capital cities) still remain attractive.
The driving force behind net purchases on the Russian stock market in the first half of the year were individuals, their share (according to the Central Bank's calculations) exceeded 80%. For cautious investors, the Central Bank together with the Ministry of Finance is preparing to offer several new instruments. In particular, a program for long-term investments for a period of ten years, as well as equity life insurance with the participation of the insured in investments in order to receive additional income. The regulator also announced its intention to change regulation to encourage investors to invest in bonds issued by Russian issuers to finance, for example, technological sovereignty projects - a topic that will remain relevant for many years to come.
Will the Russian investment market face a crash test in 2024 and how should we prepare for it? What is happening on the stock market? What is the situation with currency liquidity and investments in "tangible assets" such as real estate? Let's discuss at the Vedomosti event.
The event will consist of two parts:
1. Workshop for the private investor: expert advice and forecasts, live broadcast for participants with the opportunity to ask questions and receive investment advice.
2. A closed business breakfast with regulators and market professionals, discussing investment scenarios and opportunities for institutional investors.
