The National Agency of Investment and Privatization takes part in a «16 + 1» format business forum, which has started today within the framework of the fifth meeting of Heads of Government of Central and Eastern European countries and China.
It is expected that the forum will be attended by 750 high-ranking officials and business representatives from 17 countries. According to the forum’s program, on November 4 it is planned to visit various enterprises; on November 5 at Radisson Blu Hotel Latvia Opening Ceremony with the participation of Heads of Government of Latvia and China will take place, bilateral talks and discussions will be held later.
During the forum, experts from various fields will discuss the role of cooperation in the investment and financial sectors, transport and logistics, trade, tourism, industrialization, the importance of collaboration in the context of sustainable development. The investment potential of Belarus will be presented be the National Agency of Investment and Privatization.
More than 300 Chinese businessmen are taking part in the event; they represent such sectors as transport and logistics, finance, telecommunications, construction, trade, tourism, etc. In addition, the forum is attended by more than 350 officials and heads of leading companies from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary and other countries.
«16 + 1» format Secretariat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy of Latvia, the Latvian Investment and Development Agency are the organizers of the event.
«16 + 1» is the Chinese initiative, the essence of which is to strengthen cooperation with the 11 EU member states and 5 Balkan countries in the field of investment, transport, finance, science, education and culture. China in the framework of the initiative in the economic sphere has identified three priority areas of potential cooperation: infrastructure, high technology and green technology.
