Chinese investors intend to set up their own agricultural enterprise on the territory of Vitebsk region.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Oblast Executive Committee Konstantin Cherny. For 2015 we studied all the biggest Chinese corporations. We thought pragmatically and explained the possible partners that operating only with foreign loans in our region would not be entirely correct. The goal of Chinese investments is to enter a particular industry. Therefore, we have proposed the dairy industry. The Chinese have resources, working capital, with the help of advanced technology of Israel, Austria, Canada can be attracted. I do not want to make unsubstantiated statements, but clearly there is confirmation from the Chinese side of their interest in projects of the organization of the complete cycle of dairy production and processing on the territory of Vitebsk region , Konstantin Cherny said.

He specifies that it is about creating a business entity only with foreign investments in the near future. Chinese representatives have been in areas of the region, visited farms, examined the conditions of the material and technical base and farmland proposed for use. In terms of several aspects we are in a better position than the Chinese, for example, taxation and support of farmers etc. They do not have such benefits, so that they are interested it as it is rather advantageously. They want this project to be supported by the Bank of China. I think, judging by the significance of the companies involved in the negotiations, the issue will be resolved positively. Nearer to the end of the summer we will have a definite answer, that they are involved in this kind of project , Konstantin Cherny added.
This experience, in fact, will develop and test the algorithm, how to implement Chinese projects under the new scheme on the territory of Belarus. For example, Eastern investors are interested in our flax and wood processing , said Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Oblast Executive Committee.
