In Porto for the first time in the history of the Belarusian-Portuguese relations an economic presentation of Belarus was held. The seminar “Belarus: A New Europe Unveiled"”was attended by about 30 representatives of the business circles of Portugal. The Belarusian side was represented by Ambassador of our country in France and Portugal Pavel Latushko and the National Agency of Investment and Privatization
The Portuguese business community presented the possibilities of export and investment cooperation with Belarus. During the meeting an agreement was reached on the development of interregional cooperation in various fields, including the tourism sector. Director of one of the world’s leading business schools Porto Business School Ramon O'Kallogen stressed the importance of the meeting and noted the potential for cooperation between the two countries in view of Belarus' membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.
During the seminar, Ambassador of Porto Business School Paulo Lucas announced the creation of the Belarusian-Portuguese business platform for the exchange of information on the possibilities of trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The next meeting of the parties is to be held in Belarus. It is expected that representatives of the Portuguese businesses will visit our country this fall.
