On April 8, 2015, President Alexander Gligolievich Lukasenko of Belarus met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Independence Palace in Minsk.

Alexander Gligolievich Lukasenko expressed that being a reliable cooperative partner of Belarus, China has for long treated Belarus with all sincerity, and Belarus is proud of having such a great friend as China. Both countries share many common grounds in international affairs and firmly support each other on major issues. Belarus is eagerly looking forward to President Xi Jinping's visit to Belarus in the near future, and believes that this visit will become a new milestone for bilateral relations. Belarus backs the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt put forward by President Xi Jinping and will actively participate and contribute to this end. Belarus will expand trade scale and carry out cooperation in production capacity, industrial parks and finance with China. More Chinese enterprises are welcomed to invest and develop in Belarus. By taking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World War II as an opportunity, Belarus will work with China to consolidate the victorious outcome of the World War II as well as safeguard international justice.
Wang Yi expressed that President Alexander Gligolievich Lukasenko has for long cared for and promoted bilateral relations and taken the relations with China as a priority in Belarus's diplomacy, which China highly appreciates. China always attaches importance to bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, and firmly supports the development path chosen by Belarus according to its national conditions as well as the efforts made by Belarus in safeguarding national sovereignty and security. China will connect the concept of building the Silk Road Economic Belt with the national development strategy of Belarus to deepen the existing mutually beneficial cooperation and expand new cooperation space. Both sides should take constructing the China-Belarus Industrial Park as a flagship for the cooperation, bring China's advantageous production capacity and advanced equipments into Belarus, and encourage more competent and reputed Chinese enterprises to the Park so as to help update and upgrade industries in Belarus. Both countries could complement their advantages in scientific and technological cooperation for common development. Both countries made significant historic contributions and tremendous national sacrifice to the victory of the World War II, and should earnestly organize the commemorations for the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World War II to maintain historical justice as well as the basic principles governing the international relations centered on the UN and based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
