Belarus supports the idea of integration of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Andrei Kobyakov, the Prime Minister of Belarus, announced it today in Bishkek on a Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State.
“We fully share the Russian partners’ idea of a close integration between EAEU and SCO in the economic interaction,” the Prime Minister said. He also mentioned that such kind of approach was supported by the Belarussian leadership and was consonant with the initiative such as “integration of integrations”.
“For our part we support purposes and concrete plans of our Chinese partners in collaboration of our countries in the initiative of the Silk Road Economic Belt. We also support them in the creation of platforms of cooperation in production, transport, communication, innovation, financial and informational technology spheres,” Andrei Kobyakov added. Belarus has a developed scientific and technical potential for making a worthy investment in realization of combined projects in production, information and communication technologies, energy, agricultural and other spheres.
Andrei Kobyakov mentioned that one of the main priorities was the production cooperation with SCO countries. “We are interested in maximum development of production cooperation including our work experience in originating combined enterprises around the world,” he added. “We see good opportunities for consolidating the efforts to produce the latest models of competitive engineering products, to ensure the proper service and after-sales service ".

Another area of a mutually beneficial cooperation can be an agro-industrial complex. “Belarus is one of the leaders in agro-industrial complex. We have many results of international standard and we are ready to share our work experience with our partners,” the head of the government said.
Andrei Kobyakov believes that country partnership in industrial and agricultural spheres has to be bolstered up by continuous development of logistics and transport components. The Prime Minister said that in this regard an important step would be Belarus’ participation in an agreement between the SCO member states in creation of favorable conditions for international road transport as of September 12th, 2014.

In addition to that, he said that the development of cooperation in financial and banking spheres, as well as the development of common approaches to risk assessment of countries and financial institutions on the lines of countries, which are the participants of the SCO, is an extremely important step. Andrei Kobyakov thinks that Belarus is open to establishing close contacts in science, education, tourism, humanitarian cooperation spheres, youth projects, coordination of the environment protection work with the SCO countries.
“We hope to take into account all opportunities and Belarus’ potential in development of prospective plans and projects of the organization,” the Prime Minister added. “I would love to mention our openness to the most brave and innovatory initiatives, commitment to mutually beneficial constructive cooperation with member states, observer states and dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”.
The Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State is hold in Bishkek. Heads of State will examine implementation of the program of multilateral trade and economic cooperation of the states — members of the SCO and the organization, will adopt the budget for 2017. The main focus of the negotiations will be paid to issues of economic cooperation within the SCO. According to the results of the negotiations, it is expected to sign about 10 documents.
