Future investment cooperation in the line of Belarus — China was discussed in Minsk at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission. Areas of cooperation were fixed in the final report, which was signed by the partners.
It was noted that the project preparation for the visit of the Belarusian President to China had been started. Thus, in the near future Belarus counts on closer cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of China. Financial support will allow Chinese companies to become shareholders of Belarusian enterprises and banks. Also, the Belarusian side intends to invite partners to work out a new scheme of preferences in the field of joint ventures.
“The focus on crediting of projects in the economy by China we want to turn into investment cooperation. It will not increase the national debt, but give impetus for well-developed China's companies to come here and carry out their projects with us. As the workforce of Belarus will be engaged in it. And all preferences that are required for this co-operation will be given by the head of the state,” said Vladimir Zinovskiy, Economy Minister of Belarus.
The China-Belarus Great Stone Park is called the model project between the two countries. Today, the Park is of international importance: Austrian, Romanian, Bulgarian and German capital show interest in joining the project. The task of further cooperation is to increase the pace of the industrial park construction.
“We are preparing the draft decree that will make a major change in the regulatory framework, upon which today operates the park. More preferences will appear to interest partners not only from China, but also from Europe. It is very important that they come to our park on favorable conditions and produce products that will be in demand all over the world”, said the Minister.
According to Vladimir Zinovskiy, the document is still under discussion, so that it too early to talk about specific changes. “However, we want to present the document to the head of the state before his visit to China”, explained the Minister.
