It is planed that the new plant CJSC Belgee in Minsk region will be put into operation at the end of this year, and in early 2017 the first car will come off its assembly line.
“There are all prerequisites that it will happen. In any case, all the major emerging difficulties in the construction have been resolved. And contractors as well as the Chinese partners are determined to introduce it in time,” said Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov on July 27 after his visit to the plant construction site, where he was made aware of the progress of the investment project implementation, announces BelaPAN.

An estimated capacity of the plant at the first stage is 60 thousand cars a year. Three models – two crossovers and a sedan – will be produced.
Six models, which are now collected in Belarus, were introduced to the Prime Minister on the presentation site of CJSC Belgee.
The Prime Minister praised the quality of Geely cars assembled in Belarus. “It is a decent car — comfortable, spacious, well equipped, which is understandable, since this car is of enhanced equipment, it also runs well, gently,” said Kobyakov.
As the prime minister told reporters, it is necessary for CJSC Belgee to create a network of modern sales centers of the products.
“I had to criticize the leadership, and first of all for the work in the domestic market. It turned out that they used the old base to create sales and service centers, which are known since the Soviet period. There were an impression that the inside, which was created at that time, almost remained unchanged, but do not forget, we live in the XXI century,” said Kobyakov. As an example, he mentioned the sales centers of the world famous brands, which were located along the Minsk ring road. “Even if you do not have an intention to buy, there is a pleasure to visit the center, to inquire. Perhaps people in the future will seek to buy this or that product, which is sold there. But we do not have such a proposal, despite the fact that we have a few years of production experience of Geely cars,” said the prime minister.

According to him, the new plant CJSC Belgee is one of those companies that provide innovative development of the economy.
It is expected that by 1 January 2017 the level of localization in the production of cars will be 30%; by July 1, 2018 it will be at least 50%. “It is not an easy task – the level of localization, referred to. The requirements are tough, especially for quality and, of course, price. Still our manufacturers face this problem. It takes a serious restructuring and continuous improvement. But if we want to compete on a global level, and the car market is a worldwide competition, so that we must fit the situation,” stressed Kobyakov.
“We have never had production with such a level of robotics and automation. This is a new level for us. But again I stress, even with the best intentions, you will not get a result if you do not constantly work on quality and price. Therefore, we must do everything to get the result, which we supposed to get when creating the business plan,” said the prime minister.
