According to experts, peat deposits will be enough for several centuries in advance. A new plant for production of peat substrates based on JSC “Peatcompany Glinka” in the Stolin district of the Brest region is designed for using natural resources effectively. The investor of the project is Czech company Raselina, which plans to buy 50% of the new products.

“This product is important because it does not harm the environment, – said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Belarus Milan Eckert. – Secondly, the products to be produced here will be exported. Hence, it draws attention as entrepreneurship will receive foreign currency and provide jobs here, a good social program will be adopted.”

According to the investment project, the plant and related infrastructure have been constructed, the line of separation of peat has been installed, as well as the packaging lines of peat and peat substrates in Big Bale (worldwide standard of peat packaging) and bags of various sizes. Technological equipment for the new production with a high level of automation has been purchased in Italy, the Czech Republic and Estonia. “The new plant is one of the most modern peat processing enterprises not only in Belarus but also in Europe,” – said Minister of Energy of Belarus Vladimir Potupchik. When developing the project, the experience of production of the following companies: Raselina (Czech Republic), “Veltorf” (Russia), La Flora (Latvia) and UE “Vitebskoblgas” (Belarus) has been taken into account.

The launch of the new production will allow to expand the range of products through the production of nutrient soils packed in from 20 to 250 liters, to sell baled peat and soils in packages Big Bale, to produce goods from peat of different fractions (0-10 mm, 10-20 mm, 20-40 mm) through the use of line separation. Moreover, the annual production capacity is expected to increase more than twofold, also the volume of exported peat goods will increase twofold (from $ 0.66 million to $ 1.3 million).

Company Raselina has been cooperating with JSC “Peatcompany Glinka” for about 15 years and now it is considering to buy a share fraction of the enterprise. JSC “Peatcompany Glinka” is one of the oldest peat production in Belarus launched in 1948. The main activity of the company is the production of baled high-moor peat in Big Bale and peat for agriculture.
