Within the framework of the Day of the Belarusian economy, prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Germany in industrial, energy, banking and other areas are being discussed in these days in Berlin. The business forum is attended by business representatives of the two countries to discuss further investment, trade and economic cooperation.
The Day of the Belarusian economy in Berlin can be regarded as a traditional meeting of the representatives of business circles of the two countries. The number of negotiating parties has doubled as compared with the first forum in 2013. At this time more than a hundred high-ranking officials and business representatives of Belarus and Germany enter into the debate.
Rainer Lindner, Chairman of the Minsk Forum: “This meeting is the beginning of a new phase of relations between the two countries. It is going to be resulted in joint projects in various sectors, such as agriculture, transport, logistics, and energy. ”

One of the main topics on the agenda of the Day of the Belarusian economy in Berlin is a discussion on challenges of renewable energy sources. The memorandum of understanding has been signed by the German side.
Leonid Shenets, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus: “We are meeting with German colleagues at the Energy Forum in Minsk on November 25th. Right there we are going to outline some concrete steps for cooperation in our industry. ”
Leonid Shenets: “Not only do the Belarusians have something to learn from their German colleagues, but also vice versa. In recent years, the energy sector of the Republic has taken a huge step forward. And it is important for European integration of Belarus as a process which promotes such meetings of representatives of economic circles.”
Alexander Guryanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs: “We have discussed current issues of the development of our trade and economic relations. Several specific future projects and agreements have been pointed out, also the possibilities of further cooperation have been estimated, taking into account the normalization of relations, which now is coming in several directions: Minsk — Brussels and Belarus — Germany, where Germany is one of the key players of the European Union. ”
The meeting in Berlin has been characterized as extremely successful by the participants. During next Day of the Belarusian economy in Berlin, which will be held in two years, according to experts, new steps in cooperation between the two countries, as well as an assessment of what will have been done, will be identified.
