National Investment and Privatization Agency and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea organized an official business visit of the Korean company 'LS Networks' to Belarus

In the period from 9 to 15 February, the representatives of the Korean company ‘LS Networks’, headed by its president Mr. Kim Seung Dong, made an official visit to Belarus. This business visit was organized by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea.

‘LS Networks’ is a member of ‘LS Group, the 9th biggest Korean conglomerate, dealing with  group’s global trading operations.  The capitalization of ‘LS Networks’ amounted to 1.2 billion U.S. dollars, the equity capital – to 375 million U.S. dollars and the annual turnover of the company accounts for approximately 600 million U.S. dollars.

 

The main activities of the «LS Networks» company are:

  • Export and import of coal, steel, nonferrous metals, machinery, telecommunications and electrical equipment;
  •  Implementation of complex projects in the field of information technology and information infrastructure development both in Korea and in foreign countries;
  •  Production of sports clothing and shoes and development of own and foreign brands in this sector («Prospecs», «Skechers», «Mont-Bell», «Jack Wolfskin», «BICLO», «Walk&Talk»).

A number of task business meetings was held at different institutions in the period from 10 to 12 February: at the concern ‘Belneftechim’ and its subordinate enterprises, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, OJSC “Minsk Tractor Works”.

 

Additionally, on February 13 and 14 upon arrival of the company’s president Mr. Kim Seung Dong and the company’s executive vice-president Mr. Oh San Kwon, official negotiations took place at the Government of the Republic of Belarus, the President’s Administration, the State Committee on Science and Technology and other governmental institutions. During the negotiations ‘LS Networks’ expressed its interest in development of trade and investment cooperation with the Republic of Belarus in various business areas.

 

Several Memorandums of Understanding with the representatives of the Belarusian public and private businesses were signed during the visit of the South Korean delegation.
