The Belarusian delegation took part in the Eurasian Economic Forum 2016, which took place in Seoul on 9 November.

The second round of informal consultations on the development of trade relations between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Korea was held within the framework of the forum, as well as the seminar on investment cooperation of the parties, where NAIP gave a presentation of the investment opportunities of Belarus. 

In addition, a meeting of Belarusian diplomats with Deputy Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy of Korea Kim Hak-Up took place during the Forum. The sides discussed prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as Belarus' accession to the World Trade Organization.

Trade cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union attracts many countries. The Union market has a high capacity in a number of areas, and it is not only about mutual trade, but the establishment of enterprises with the help of foreign direct investment. To do this, on the territory of the five there are already exist and continue to appear free economic zones, which provide the investor with tax and customs benefits, making it possible to save 25-30% of the costs on the project realization stage. The initiatives to alleviate the conditions for investment have been introduced in Belarus. Today, virtually the entire territory of the country is a collection of various well-functioning preferential regimes with favorable conditions for investment, Great Stone Industrial Park in particular and small towns and rural area.
