The Finnish company Olvi Group intends to invest more in the Lida-based brewery Lidskoe Pivo. The matters were discussed at a meeting of representatives of the State Property Committee of Belarus and the Finnish companies Olvi Group and Finpro, the Committee's press service told.

According to the source, the project provides for modernizing the manufacturing facilities, improving transport and logistics schemes, and working out new effective marketing instruments. The investor is also interested in stepping up its presence on the Belarusian market. The source reminded that Olvi Group is the key shareholder of the public joint-stock company OAO Lidskoe Pivo. The state-owned package of shares of Lidskoe Pivo was sold in 2008.

During the meeting the sides discussed state approaches to privatization and opportunities for foreign investors to take part in the process. Representatives of the Finnish companies took the relevant presentation materials that highlight the opportunities and terms of participation in the privatization of state property in Belarus as well as the list of Belarusian enterprises that the State Property Committee is evaluating the demand for.

Representatives of the Finnish companies were also informed about the measures taken in Belarus to develop corporate management in joint-stock companies with a state share and enable conditions conducive to investments.
