The second meeting of the working group on improving the provision with well-qualified personnel under the Foreign Investment Advisory Council under the Council of Ministers on issues of foreign investors cooperation with educational system of the Republic of Belarus and ways to improve this cooperation was held on April 29, 2016 chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Bogush and the head of the representative office of the German economy in Belarus Dr. Wladimir Augustinski. “A favorable geopolitical position contributes to the inclusion of the republic into the international division of labor. Belarus is situated at the crossroads of major railways and highways connecting Russia with the European countries, Ukraine with the Baltic States, Asia and Europe country. In addition, for effective participation in the international division of labor it is necessary to ensure the level of personnel training” — Wladimir Augustinski noted.
During the meeting, the head of the Volkswagen training center in Belarus and the regional office of the Academy of Volkswagen for the CIS represented the company's employees training system of the Volkswagen Service Training and the results of its application.
CSR initiative (CSR — Corporate Social Responsibility) Job Shadow Days was represented by European Business Association as a way for a student to get acquainted with the profession through the support of experienced person (mentor) in real work environment during working day, that allows a student to get more information about features of a job. It was suggested to develop and approve the procedure for Job Shadow Days in Belarus at the national level, as well as to realize it in the region of Belarus as a pilot project.
Also during the meeting the director of the Vocational College, the branch of educational institution Republican institution of vocational education made a speech on the interaction of education and business to improve the training of qualified personnel for the high-tech industries. He emphasized the need on the development of the dual education system in Belarus as an integration form of vocational education and production, in which the theoretical part of the training takes place on the basis of an educational organization and practical part – in the work place.
