The necessary infrastructure for the residents of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone will become available this fall. First deputy director general of the Company for the development of the industrial park, Kirill Koroteev announced this during the round table on the topic “The advantages and prospects of Belarus in the construction of the economic zone of the Silk Road”.

Kirill Koroteev noted that over the past 7 months from the date of the first meeting of a such round table in Minsk, in the development of the park a lot has been done. “With regard to the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure, the overall readiness of the first roads of the park with a total length of 13 km is 85%; the readiness of the utilities, electricity, water, sewer, gas and communications is up to 98%. The construction completion of roads and utilities in full is to be finished in the near future”, he said.

According to him, the of readiness of the engineering structures, such as water intake pumping stations, treatment facilities of the rainfall runoffs and utility fluids, transformer and distribution substations is from 40% to 90%. The first buildings will be ready in August and commissioning of the main complex will be completed in October of this year. “As it was promised, the necessary infrastructure will be available to residents in the autumn. Let me remind you, it is a territory of 350 hectares, which is fully equipped with engineering and transport infrastructure in line with the most advanced design solutions. The average amount of the staff involved in the construction of the park is 1.2 thousand people, with a planned increase to 2 thousand people in the near future. The volume of investments in the objects of the park has already exceeded 100 million US dollars, and by the end of 2016 the amount will be doubled,” said the first deputy director general.

“The main object that has a particular interest in terms of the formation of commodity flows of the Silk Road economic belt and its influence on the architecture is certainly a logistical subpark of China Merchants Group”, said Kirill Koroteev. “The project implementation is under way. In normative terms of construction of the entire facility in 33 months, it will be built three times faster – within 11 months – and commissioned in November this year.”

The first stage of 25 hectares consists of three logistics warehouse with an area of over 15 thousand square meters each: a container terminal (ground) is more than 26 thousand square meters, a business center building with a hotel, an exhibition center, a range of related support utilities and facilities. The facilities of the logistics subpark make it possible to provide a range of services for warehousing, cargo transportation by air, rail and road transport, distribution, loading and processing of goods, customs control, and also to provide wholesale trade, primarily with China, to facilitate the promotion of Belarusian products on the market, that is of particular importance under the existing circumstances.
