Kaan Terzioglu says that Turkcell company is ready to mediate in the business cooperation between Belarus and Turkey

Turkcell General Director Kaan Terzioglu expects new large-scale projects between Belarus and Turkey. He said this to journalists today.

Kaan Terzioglu says that Turkcell company is ready to mediate in the business cooperation between Belarus and Turkey. “In Ankara a very fruitful and effective meeting on economic issues between assistant to the Belarusian President Vsevolod Yancheuski and Chief adviser to Turkish President took place last week. Part of the meeting was devoted to the cooperation between the two countries in the field of telecommunications, high technology, investment in ICT, as well as the prospects for the work of our corporation Turkcell in Belarus,” he  added.

In addition, the proposals for changes in the regulation of telecommunications were in question. “I think that the changes that may occur in Belarus will be useful primarily for subscribers. In addition, issues of foreign investment were discussed – it is important not only for us, but also for other businesspeople who are ready to invest in Belarus,” said CEO of Turkcell.

Today Kaan Terzioglu holds a meeting with Vsevolod Yanchevskii in Minsk. He expects that by the coming of the Turkish President to Belarus a number of joint large-scale projects that deserve to be considered at the highest level will be prepared. “The main topic of today's meeting will be the informatization of Belarus and Turkey, including the information of health care services, education and other services provided by government agencies. Some of these services are provided by our company in Turkey, our Belarusian team has been always contributing to the development of this area here,” said Kaan Terzioglu. The preparation of the visit of Turkish President Erdogan to Belarus is also on the agenda. The visit will take place soon, he added.

Kaan Terzioglu confirmed Turkcell’s intention to continue investing in the development of mobile operator life :). In the second quarter of this year life :) has increased its revenues in the Belarusian rubles by more than 25%, and the operator intends to maintain this trend. Another positive trend is the growth of subscriber base, which reached 1.6 million people. Now life :) is the only operator in Belarus that shows the growth of the subscriber base.

CJSC Belarusian Telecommunications Network was registered on November 5, 2004. In July 2008, the contract of purchase was signed, according to which 20% of shares of JSC BeST was transferred to the State Property Committee of Belarus and 80% to Turkish company Turkcell. Since that time, the operator started working in Belarus under the brand life :). Over the years, the operator launched 33 voice tariffs, 56 Internet tariffs, as well as established cooperation with 271 roaming partners in 143 countries, opened 150 sales and service points.

Turkcell , the main shareholder of the life :), is the leader of the Turkish mobile market subscribers in Turkey, which is 34.5 million people, and the third largest GSM-operators in Europe (66.5 million subscribers in 9 countries around the world).
