The famous Scandinavian retailer JYSK which has in its portfolio more than 2.4 thousand shops in 45 countries has come to Belarus as well. Company executives have given publicity to Napoleonic plans for development of the network in Belarus.

The retailer is planning to open at least 25 shops across Belarus, as CEO of JYSK in the Baltic countries and Belarus, Dace Zundure said at the opening of the shop.

First of all, shops will appear in Minsk, then in the regional centers, and then in other cities. The company intends to invest about 500 thousand euros for one shop. Taking into account the plans, the total amount of investment should make at least 12.5 million euros.

JYSK did not regard Belarus as a zone of its interests until the Embassy of Belarus in Latvia showed initiative and told the company executives about prospects in Belarus. At the same time, an impressive list of the Belarusian producers that can become the suppliers of quality goods for a network in Scandinavian style was provided to the eminent retailer.

According to Dace Zundure, Scandinavian style doesn't mean at all that all the goods sold in the network have to be made in Scandinavian countries. Today JYSK has been already successfully cooperating even with such countries as Vietnam, China, Malaysia and many others. Belarus is no exception.

Dace Zundure said that before opening of the first shop she personally had visited about 30 Belarusian productions. Many of them, at first, treated the Scandinavian retailer and requirements imposed on them with mistrust, but then understood what prospects are opening for them today. The following Belarusian companies have already become the suppliers of JYSK – producer of mattresses Vegas, Brest carpets, Grodno Kamisa which makes blankets and pillows, furniture producers Olsa and Inovlyuks and others. Now negotiations with a number of Belarusian producers are being conducted. Taking into account that 90% of the goods supplied by them will go for export, to foreign JYSK shops, very optimistic prospects are opening for Belarusian companies.

JYSK didn't get any special conditions out of Belarusian companies, even bought the first consignment of goods with 100% prepayment, as Dace Zundure said to Ezhednevnik. Meanwhile, if we analyse the prices in JYSK shop and those of Belarusian producers, it becomes clear that the Scandinavian retailer precisely has received at least price preferences; consequently it has an opportunity to sell Belarusian goods much cheaper in Belarus than other shops.

Dace Zundure didn't want to speak about next JYSK shop; however the staff of the company told that in December one more shop in Minsk would be opened in Masyukovshchina district. The employees have been already recruited for it. After the opening in Masyukovshchina, JYSK will enter other districts of the Belarusian capital, and then it will go on to the regions.
