The largest agricultural holding in Belarus Machulishchy  agro plant, part of the Presidential Administration of Belarus, has attracted  a Lithuanian investors to create a network of biogas stations.

As it is said in the holding, biogas plants based on the following farms  Otechestvo  (Pruzhany district), Parohonskoe (Pinsk district) and Vasilishki (Ščučyn district) are to be built with the participation of the Lithuanian company Modus energija. During 2017-2018 eight plants will be built and their installed capacity will be 8 MW. According to experts, investment cost of a plant with a capacity of 1 MW is € 2 million.

Modus energija is a division of miltiproduct Modus grupė, which presents in the Belarusian market in several sectors. Her owner is Kestutis Martinkėnas, who was 28th in 2015 among the largest Lithuanian businessmen with a fortune of 71 million euros.

We recall that, in 2014, Modus grupė, BPS-Sberbank and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee signed a memorandum on the implementation of the investment project for the construction and operation of solar power plants in Myadel area. Its estimated cost was at € 10.2 million. However, nothing  has been heard about the project.

Nevertheless , Modus grupė has been actively developing in other directions in Belarus.

Firstly, the company is the supplier of BMW and Mini, Avtoideya (import) and Unimodus (automobile service centre) are part of the Belarusian business.

Secondly, the Lithuanian investor has been developing a network of paid parking through ModusPark company. Today they have several packing areas: on Svobodi Square, Engels Street and Zybytskaya Street, near the Central Department Store in Gikalo Street, on Yakub Kolasa Square, in the same place near the shop Electrosila, Horuzhei Street, Bobruiskaya Street (near the railway station), in the triangle of the streets Revolucionnaya- Komsomolskaya -Internatsionalnaya, as well as in shopping centers — Galileo and Metropol.
