Part of the Lithuanian holding company SVUDS export will invest 23 million euros in the modernization of the sawmill and furniture industries, as well as the production of wood pellets.

The project will be completed by the end of 2017, said Narunas Stasius, director of the enterprise.

“Tasks on modernization of the production in Borisov are distributed on a phased basis. It is planned to invest 18 million euros in the sawmill production, a furniture site and installation of the second line for the production of fuel pellets. 5 million euros will be spent on a new dryer section”, Narunas Stasius said. According to him, the first stage of the investment project implementation to expand the production volumes involves bringing the processing volumes of timber on it up to 330 thousand cubic meters a year. Modernization of the furniture section is intended to increase the production of furniture and solid wood components of up to 24 thousand cubic meters per year. The company expects that the construction of the second line for the production of wood pellets will make it possible to increase the production of these products up to 36 thousand tonnes per year.

The holding company Vakaru medienos grupe, which is owned by the company SBA and Sigitas Paulauskas, includes a woodworking complex VMG Industry in Mogilev and logging company Logdrev.
