JSC MAZ and Chinese company Zoomlion registered a joint venture and soon will get down to setting up special vehicles with Belarusian chassis, but with Chinese superstructure. Within five years LLC Zoomlion-MAZ intends to produce about 1 thousand special vehicles and enter the CIS and EU markets.
Belarusian-Chinese company is located in Mogilev, where the production of special equipment will be developed on vacant sites of Mogilevtransmash plant. The company also plans to become the resident of FEZ Mogilev – the protocol with such intention was signed together with the statutory documents. At the same time the main office will be opened in the capital – near Minsk automobile plant.
In 2017 in Mogilev about 20 samples of the Belarusian-Chinese special equipment will be produced. LLC Zumlion-MAZ plans to mass produce its goods in a year. Both the Belarusians and the Chinese will produce truck cranes, auto concrete pumps, automobile mixers and municipal equipment.
At the first stage special vehicles will be produced using semi knocked down assembly method: Chinese attached implements will be put on Belarusian chassis. Afterwards the production depth as the level of its localization will be greater by twofold. It is supposed that not only major components , but also small components will be produced in Belarus.
Special vehicles will be supplied to Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Besides, they will be delivered to the European Union countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary. The Belarusian-Chinese special equipment is to be exported to the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
The joint venture will carry out not only engineering, but also marketing functions: search for distribution areas, study demand and develop special unique equipment models. The Chinese company will share the innovation techniques with the Belarusians.
“Together with the Chinese company in Mogilev we will produce the unique equipment, which makes it possible to enter the world’s market. For this purpose we will unite the best that both enterprises have. What is important, we will be able to load the empty capacities of Mogilevtransmash and to set up new workplaces: if now about 200 units of the equipment are produced a year, then in several years it will be at least fourfold more,” said Director of LLC Zumlion-MAZ Yury Pivovarov.
