A new gypsum plant will be built in the village of Gatavo. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin, after a time-capsule laying ceremony to mark the start of the construction of the gypsum plant.
“I believe that within two and a half years we will see new modern buildings that will provide jobs and contribute to the economy of our country, new technologies for rapid development of the building sector”, — said Anatoly Kalinin. According to him, the new production will allow to carry out construction of houses and other buildings with high consumer qualities and at low prices." This is the most important principle for the building complex, manufacturers of building materials," — said Deputy Prime Minister.
The construction of the gypsum plant in Gatovo is the next stage of a large-scale investment project, which is being implemented by the international company Volma supported by the government of Belarus. The plant for production of building materials will be equipped with the latest technologies. Estimated capacity per year will amount to: plasterboard — 30 million square meters, gypsum partition block — 500 thousand square meters, dry construction mixtures — 100 thousand tons. More than 180 new jobs will be created.
According to the Decree of the President of January 16, 2014 No34 “On some issues of BELGIPS open joint stock company” the international company Volma received the right to purchase state-owned shares of BELGIPS. The transaction amount was $ 5.27 million. The sales condition of the government's stake was a conclusion of an investment agreement with Belarus on implementation of investment project “Modernization of existing production of BELGIPS and construction of a plant for production of building materials on the basis of gypsum in the village of Gatovo in Minsk region. ” The document provides for the mandatory investment in BELGIPS open joint stock company up to July 1, 2018 at least 43 million euros.
