IV Belarusian-Finnish Economic Forum in the cities of Turku and Helsinki were discussed prospects of the Belarusian-Finnish cooperation.

Belarusian business sector representatives took part in the two days long IV Finland-Belarus Business Forum on the 8th April, aiming at strengthening investment, trade and economic cooperation. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Finland and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Forum mainly served as a venue for talks, attended by 150 people, 100 of them were Finnish officials and representatives of the Finnish business sector. The economic and investment potentials of the both countries were presented at the Forum; the prospects of further cooperation between the countries were also addressed.

Finland is a major trade and investment partner for Belarus. According to the results of the year 2013, trade exceeded $255 mn, FDI from Finland to Belarus accounted to more than $7 mn on a net basis, which points at the mutual interest of the countries and affluent potential for bilateral cooperation.
