The National Investment and Privatisation Agency (NIPA) has received over 30 applications during the contest announced to the right to render services of the privatisation process support.

Among the applicants there are consulting companies and investment banks from the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, India, USA and other countries. At present moment the National Agency of Investment and Privatisation implements a pilot project to privatise eight OJSCs: Belgazstroi, Minsk Margarine Factory, Avtomagistral, Construction and Assembly Trust No. 8, Baranovichi Reinforced-Concrete Structures Factory, Medplast, Konfa, Belsantechmontazh 2. For consulting support of the project the NIPA intends to attract international financial organisations with long-term experience of successful privatisation.

The tasks of the financial consultant include preparation of an enterprise for privatisation, market analysis, drawing up legal documents on the deal, holding an auction to sell shares. Determination of the successful applicants and entering into contracts with them will take place in the March-April of this year.

Co-operation with the leading global financial consultants will improve attractiveness of the privatisation programme implemented in Belarus, will enable to sell enterprises in accordance with the highest international standards as well as will positively influence the investment image and credit ratings of the country.
