Pakistan is ready to implement an investment project to open an assembly production of tractors ‘Belarus’. This was stated by Minister of Industry of the Government of the Punjab Province Sheikh Allauddin in Minsk during negotiations with the company's management.
“We are ready to invest together with you in a joint venture. In the near future we would like to discuss the conditions under which joint work is possible to conclude a contract as soon as possible,” Allauddin said. The Minister of Industry suggested considering the placement of the production site in one of the special economic zones of the Punjab province. “If the assembly production is located in such a zone, we are also ready to consider the issue of lowering taxes and duties,” the minister stressed.

To date, Pakistan's tractor force is estimated at 700,000 units of equipment. The annual demand of the market is about 85-90 thousand tractors. During the talks, Allauddin noted that in Pakistan they know the technique ‘Belarus’ well, and farmers appreciate it for quality and endurance.
Director General of JSC MTZ Fyodor Domotenko, in turn, offered not only to assemble the tractors, but to supply Pakistani farmers with machinery along with agricultural technologies.
“If we invest in a joint venture, it is logical that it should offer agrarians any technology, and not just a tractor, but seeders, winnowers, plows, trailers,” Domotenko said.
Also, the parties agreed that at the future production it is possible to assemble not only agricultural but also communal equipment. “We are ready to consider existing production sites and introduce the most modern and advanced technologies,” the Director General said.
The Minsk Tractor Plant began deliveries to Pakistan in 1955. Over the years of cooperation, more than 130,000 tractors have been delivered to the Islamic Republic. In 2015, an assembly plant for the production of tractors ‘Belarus’ was opened in Pakistan on the basis of the Orient Tractor plant. Production capacity will allow producing about 4 thousand units of equipment per year.
