According to AsiaOne press holdings portal the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the President of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam discussed ways in which two countries can further strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, culture, and people-to-people ties.
The President of Singapore noted that it was his belief that there was much untapped potential in our economic relations. Belarus economy had doubled in size over the previous ten years, an achievement given the uncertain global economic outlook. Singaporean officials also had a first-hand glimpse of the opportunities available when they participated in the 7th Belarus Investment Forum in Minsk in November in the previous year. The Belarus-Singapore Business Forum which was held in conjunction with visit of the President helped to create even greater awareness of the opportunities available in Belarus.
