Belarus hopes to intensify trade and economic cooperation with the United States. Today the first Belarusian-American Investment Forum will be held in New York. Our delegation is headed by the Prime Minister of Belarus. Immediately upon arrival in New York Mikhail Myasnikovich held talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. They discussed issues of international cooperation, including the situation in Ukraine. Ban Ki-moon noted the smart policy of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko concerning the crisis in the neighboring country and said, that ceasefire took place due to agreements made in Minsk. The two sides also discussed the work of UN experts who participate in the development of a program of prospective development of Belarus until 2020. The document will allow for direct cooperation with the World Bank and other financial institutions.
