A new plant for production of products from turkey meat has been put into operation in Lida region. The company plans to produce up to 5500 tons of turkey meat per year. In the future, the capacity will be doubled.

“Today's object clearly confirms that our country is open for investments, there are all possibilities for capital to operate”, said President’s assistant – chief inspector of Grodno region Sergei Rovneyko at the opening of the business.

The new production is important for the region in terms of job creation. «Lithuanian investors will be able to make sure that the Belarusian personnel are professionals of the highest level and those who will be here to work will do everything to make the product be in demand not only in the domestic but also the international market", said Sergey Rovneyko.

He noted that the new object is one more confirmation of the development of an innovative economy. “We introduce not just meat but high-tech enterprise with a full cycle of processing. It is the measure that each business should strive for.”

The agricultural complex with a complete production cycle costs almost 30 million dollars. It is the project with the participation of the Lithuanian capital. The bird is grown on their own farms; the plant will produce semi-finished and finished products – more than a hundred names. Later, there will be also its own factory for the production of forage. One-third of the production will be exported, including to the European Union. In the future, the investor intends to open similar production in Mogilev and Gomel regions.

The project will create up to 200 jobs. This is not the first project of ARVI group of companies in Grodno region. Previously, the plant for animal waste processing Biovast was opened in Lida region.

“Grodno region has always been the leader in attraction of foreign direct investments,” said Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Andrei Sviridov. “Lida district has always stood out. It is not only the geographical center but also the center of attraction of foreign investors. From the point of view of the investor, the domestic market is always important. Thus, we have, roughly speaking, quite capacious domestic market, as Belarus is part of the EAEU. In addition, the investor is concerned about the security of both political and economic situation in the country.”

This year, in Grodno region a portfolio of 20 investment projects is valued at more than 200 million US dollars. Among them there are the construction of an oil-extraction plant in Smorgon, a transport and logistics center at the checkpoint Berestovitsa, and reconstruction of Grodno hotel.
