“As part of the implementation of medium-term and long-term development programs, we put emphasis on ensuring sustainable economic growth in the interests of the entire Belarusian people,” the First Deputy Prime Minister stressed. “In this context, cooperation with the World Bank for Belarus has always been of great importance. Over 25 years of the joint work, the World Bank has invested more than $ 1.6 billion in the implementation of joint projects. ”

These funds are invested in such areas as energy, strengthening of transit potential, ensuring environmental sustainability, ensuring the well-being of the population. At the same time, in recent years there has been a positive trend towards expanding areas of interaction with the World Bank, added Vasily Matyushevsky.

Within the framework of the World Bank Group's partnership strategy for 2014-2017, 7 new projects have been launched in Belarus totaling about $ 650 million, including the areas of health and education.
