On September, 9-13 World Bank consultants paid a visit to Minsk.
On September 9-13, specialists from World Bank visited Belarus in order to have a series of meeting within the Programme of private sector development, which is financed by the EU trust fund.

NAIP and the Ministry of Economy are the main partners in terms of this Programme.
In the course of the visit World Bank specialists had meetings with these bodies, as well as with interested parties at both public and private sectors, such as Minsk Regional Executive Committee, Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, Ministry of Health, Development Bank, Minsk City Executive Committee.
The parties discussed current implementation of projects in infrastructure, consulting projects of World Bank. as well as priorities of further cooperation.

As a result, Minsk Regional Executive Committee expressed its readiness to cooperate with World Bank consultants and NAIP and support successful implemetation of the project on preschool facilities construction in 3 distrcits of Minsk region. The current World Bank portfolio in Minsk region includes implementation of projects in education and housing and communal services which amount to $ 85 mln.
"Minsk region will keep pursuing well-balanced policy based on both regional and national interests and World Bank priorities", - stated Mr. Nikolay Rogashchuk, Head of Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
World Bank also reached agreements with the Ministries of Health, of Housing and Communal Servicies in terms of perspectives of PPP in corresponding sectors. There are few determined projects which can be implemented in PPP format.
