Organization, organic agriculture is a holistic production management system which promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. It emphasizes the use of natural resources, i.e., mineral and plant products, and the rejection of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. It emphasizes the use of natural inputs, i.e. mineral and products derived from plants, and the renunciation of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. According to the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), organic agricultural production methods are based on the principles of health, ecology, fairness and care.
