Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency

Since 1992, the Republic of Belarus is a member of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). In July 2011, the Government of the Republic of Belarus and MIGA entered into agreements on the legal protection of guaranteed foreign investments and on the use of local currency. The agreements were ratified with Belarus in May 2012. Ratification of the agreements completed the implementation by the Republic of Belarus of the conditions for its membership in MIGA and created the legal basis allowing MIGA to extend its guaranteed obligations to Belarus.
