On July 1, 2026, the first Belarusian-Chinese Forum of Regions was held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province.
The main organizers of the forum were the authorities of the twin regions - the Grodno Regional Executive Committee and the People's Government of Gansu Province. And the co-organizers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, and on the Chinese side – the Chinese People's Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
The opening of the forum was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov, Secretary of the Party Committee of Gansu Province Hu Changsheng, Chairman of the Chinese People's Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yang Wanming and Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Yuri Karaev.
The forum events brought together about 300 participants from 23 regions of China and all regions of Belarus. They worked in three sections dedicated to industrial and investment cooperation, cultural exchange and tourism, cooperation in the scientific and educational spheres.
NAIP, together with the Committee of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade of Gansu Province, organized one of the panel sections of the forum - “Industrial Integration, Investment and Joint Development”. NAIP Director Alexey Pushkarev delivered a presentation on the investment climate in Belarus. In addition, investment opportunities in the Grodno and Mogilev SEZs, the Great Stone Industrial park, and investment proposals from Belarusian and Chinese companies were presented. Following the results of the section, B2B negotiations took place.
The practical result of the forum was the signing of more than 30 investment, trade and partnership agreements.
The investment block of 15 agreements is estimated at a total amount of about $1 billion. In addition, the agreements with business associations of the provinces of Gansu and Heilongjiang, which were concluded by the NAIP, are intended to form the basis for future investment contracts.
Also during the forum, several trade agreements were signed between enterprises of the Grodno region and Chinese counterparties for a total amount of over 50 million US dollars.
The forum in Gansu lived up to its name in deepening and expanding relations between the regions of Belarus and China. Another 13 agreements in the field of interregional and humanitarian cooperation were signed between organizations and enterprises of the Grodno, Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev regions and their Chinese partners.
