On March 18, the first meeting of the Investors Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Astana. The Director of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization Dzmitry Krasoŭsky represented Belarus at the meeting.

In his speech, Krasoŭsky described the position of Belarus on the "investment map" of the SCO countries, as well as provided information about preferential regimes and support measures for investors in Belarus. He focused on new mechanisms - a special investment agreement and fiscal transfers, which became available thanks to the updated investment law in 2024.

The Investors Association of the SCO member states is a multilateral, consultative and expert platform created to promote the development of investment cooperation, establish interaction between business circles and institutions of the SCO member states engaged in investment activities. The decision to establish the Association was made by the heads of the SCO member states at the summit in Astana in July 2024.

The first meeting of the Association was held today at the Astana International Financial Center in the capital of Kazakhstan. Heads and representatives of investment and business promotion agencies, relevant departments of ministries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states gathered there.

The meeting participants discussed current and prospective areas of cooperation in the field of investment, and exchanged views on possible areas of joint activities.

The meeting approved the Association’s work plan for 2025.
